Alecia Giovinazzo, MD, is a caring, compassionate OBGYN serving patients in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. She takes the time to know every patient, and makes sure to integrate a personable, small-town approach to her practice.
Dr. Giovinazzo was inspired to become a physician after watching her father, Dr. Paul Eugene Rockwell, care for his patients. He was the original small-down doctor, and she saw what a great impact her father had on his patients’ lives, and felt that she had the same desire to help.
She started her practice in 2005 and became board-certified in 2009. She has professional experience in general OBGYN, advanced laparoscopy, and high-risk pregnancy. Dr. Giovinazzo has also received awards for her efforts in clinical teaching and for her expertise in laparoscopic surgery. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, Center for Human Reproduction, and Richmond County Medical Society. She is also on the board trustees for the Staten Island Children's Museum.
To better serve her patients, Dr. Giovinazzo is fluent in Spanish.
When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her two children, James and Katherine. You can often find her going for bike rides, walks, and long hikes, or swimming and water skiing in upstate New York.
